5Great Pack, if all you really need is hydration
By M. Cook
This pack is great. It is well built and comfortable to wear. As other reviewers have commented the pockets are not large, but in a pinch can hold quite a bit. I took it on a 10 mile hike earlier this week and was able to shove in it: a peanut butter & jelly sandwich, a Swiss army knife, keys, approx 5 Chips Ahoy cookies, Ziploc baggie of dog biscuits, a collapsible fabric water bowl (for the dog), a pack of gum and a baggie of grapes. The sandwich ended up a little flatter than it might have in a roomier pack, but my dog and I had our basic needs and both of us enjoyed the hike. The 70 oz was perfect, I still had water left when we returned to the car. Where the pack is designed for Camelbak's biking line, I did find it shifted a little more than I liked when my dog and I ran the trail, to solve that you'd need to have an additional strap that goes around the waist (like they have on several of their hiking packs).

4happy with purchase
By srace21
Just purchased this. I had tried to get a cheaper version of a hydration pack from Walmart, but the reservoirs were no good. One came with a pin size leak in it. The other, the hose/mouth piece was such that sucking the water out was nearly impossible. Gave myself a headache trying to suck the water out. The product from Walmart was $23 and this was $50. I think the price is definitely worth it for the bladder alone. The bags themselves were about the same quality.

I decided to splurge and go for the Camelbak. I'm glad I did. the reservoir is highly superior. After the problem sucking with the less expensive brand, the water practically flows out of this one. I did not have any leaks, the screw cap was secure and it was easy to fill. the bag also dried quickly once I was done using it.

I like the pockets for storage, just enough space for my camera, keys and a few snacks. I wasn't looking for anything bulky and this was perfect.

My only complaint about the pack is the chest strap. For me, it is way too high up on the straps. in ends up irritating my collarbone/neck. Since this pack is designed for women, I found it odd that I had such a problem. I think the strap would be better placed below the chest (obviously not over, which is maybe a design feature they were trying to avoid but overcompensated). I just got the bag, so hopefully I'll be able to play around with it and figure something out.

4Great Product!
By Let's-go-Riding
Another great product from Camelbak...they're a little pricey but well worth the money. The patented valve is one of the things that makes all their packs better than the rest. They rarely (if ever) leak and last a good length of time before needing replacement. I've had mine for close to 4 years which I use almost every day and it's still going strong.
The wife is happy with this one and no more turning back because she's "almost out of water"!
