I purchased this bladder to go along with my Fox Tactical Medium Transport Pack. It fits perfectly in the hydration pouch, in case you were wondering.
This was my first encounter with a Camelbak, and let me say I'm very glad I picked one up! The bladder itself is very well-made. The membrane is nice and thick with a good texture to it. The screw cap screws on very tightly so you can be sure there will not be any leaks. The quick-detach system works like a charm, just remember that if you detach the hose from the bladder, there will be nothing stopping the water! (this bladder comes with a plug just for that reason)
The hose is a good length, even a bit long perhaps. I have to double it over once in my back before sending it over my shoulder. The bite valve is an awesome invention, and it has a lever to close it off when not in use. I would highly recommend getting a bit valve cover, as the bite valve itself can easily get very dirty, and who wants a mouthful of dirt with their water? (not me.)
The bladder holds enough water to last me a good 6 hours of heavy activity, although your water intake may be more or less. It keeps the water a nice temperature throughout the day despite being pressed up against my sweaty back.

Last year I bought the camp bags with the water inserts. Over the winter the kids didn't rinse them out so that the hose got moldy inside. I saw this product and it saved me from buying the bag again. My grandson loved the Camelbak and it holds enough water for a full day at camp. It is also easy to fill and can even hold ice cubes with the water. Good product.

This is perfect with the hydration pack i bought, see my reviews, its small and can hold a decent amount of water and a bonus feature that didn't say it came with is a THERMAL HOSE yah thats right. If u don't know the thermal keeps the water cold on summer days and just warm that doesn't freeze on winter nights and saves me 15 bucks. You also get the hydrolock plus the big bit valve another 10 bucks saving you a good 30 dollars. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting an extra reservoir or buying one for the first time.
